Brews and Views welcomes Dave Burstein Founder and CEO of Run for America and author of Fast Future: How the Millennial Generation is Shaping Our World, the first broad book about the Millennial Generation, written by a Millennial. He is a frequent speaker and commentator on Millennials, social innovation and politics, a contributor to Fast Company, and has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, NPR, and other media outlets. Run for America’s goal is to strategically recruit, train, and work to elect a new generation of leaders to Congress who are committed to a solutions-first, future-focused, and innovative approach to tackling our major national challenges. Following a discussion between Burstein and Mendonca on Run for America, they will open the floor for a Q&A with the audience.

Brews and Views welcomes Malka Kopell, co-founder of Civity, to discuss the need to build a “21st century civic infrastructure” that addresses 21st century problems and is designed to serve all members of society, especially those on the margin. Malka Kopell has spent much of her life trying to get people to work together better in the civic context. In 1990 Malka founded the nonprofit Community Focus to facilitate more effective implementation of public policies by increasing community participation. Following a discussion between Kopell and Mendonca on civic infrastructure, they will open the floor for a Q&A with the audience.
