Livingston and Ahern Win Cabrillo School Board Election

Both are educators with classroom experience.

Update 11:45 p.m.:

Kate Livingston and Michael Ahern won the Cabrillo Unified School District Board.

Livingston, with a grand total of 3,840 votes, is a retired educator with 37 years of classroom experience, more than half of those years at two elementary schools in the Cabrillo district: Hatch and Farallone View. She's advocating for putting an educator on the board. Her top priorities are to "ask 'How does this affect the classroom?'; work to strengthen communication among stakeholder; and support and strengthen school program."

Ahern, at a grand total of 3,307 votes, is an educator, businessman, and musician who taught at Alta Vista High School, a continuation school in Mountain View. He says his 27 years in the classroom would give him useful insight on the board, especially when cuts have to be made.

Mario Vazquez received 2,789 votes and Charmion Donegan 2,267.
