Coastside Land Trust Launches Gallery

On Thursday, Half Moon Bay will become home to another art gallery on Main St. when the opens their latest venture to the public.

The gallery was established to promote public appreciation of the natural environment, as well as a means of raising funds for the organization's ongoing work, said Executive Director Jo Chamberlain.

With a focus on acquiring and maintaining permanent open space on the San Mateo County coast from Montara south to Año Nuevo, the Coastside Land Trust plans to exhibit work with scenic or historical attributes in an agricultural, habitat, or recreational environment, according to Chamberlain.

Artwork on display will depict areas within the organization's geographic boundaries of Montara to Año Nuevo from the shoreline to the ridgeline area, Chamberlain said.

The gallery's debut exhibit consists of photographs taken by professional Beau Gill. Gill's subjects are the landscapes, flowers and wildlife along the Coastside.
