UPDATE: Driver Hospitalized in Truck Crash Near Half Moon Bay

CHP officials say a heavy-duty truck went 50 feet off an embankment Wednesday afternoon.

A big-rig crash in a landfill near Half Moon Bay seriously injured the driver Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the Ox Mountain Sanitary Landfill at 12310 state Highway 92 at 2:11 p.m., CHP officials said.

A truck and trailer went 50 feet over the side of an embankment, trapping the driver inside. The driver was flown to Stanford Hospital with major injuries, according to the CHP.

Because the crash happened in the dump, no road closures were necessary.

The state Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the crash, according to the CHP.

A truck crash in a landfill near Half Moon Bay seriously injured the driver Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the Ox Mountain Sanitary Landfill at 12310 state Highway 92 at 2:11 p.m., CHP officials said.

A heavy-duty truck went 50 feet over the side of an embankment, trapping the driver inside. The driver needed to be flown to a hospital, according to the CHP.

Because the crash happened in the dump, no road closures were necessary.
