DROUGHT - WHAT TO EXPECT AND WHAT WE CAN DO

The Quarterly Meeting of the Coastside Democrats - The public is welcome to join us to hear our Informative Speakers address the Drought.

WHEN: Saturday September 19th, 2:00-4:30 pm,

WHERE: 771 San Carlos Ave., El Granada (Cross street - Paloma)

Kellyx Nelson, Executive Director of the Resource Conservation District, will inform us about the RCD and its programs and services to the Coastside community. The RCD is a special district that provides assistance to private and public landowners wishing to best manage their natural resources. The RCD helps the Coastside be resilient to drought, flooding, and climate change as well as working to restore habitat for wildlife, improve water quality, and more.

Next, Cathleen Brennan from Coastside Co. Water District, Water Resources Analyst, followed by Clemens Heldmaier, Montara Water and Sanitary District General Manager, will discuss the drought and its impacts, and the potential for an El Niño year. The benefits and best practices for utilizing “gently used” or “gray water” in the home landscape will be addressed.

The meeting will conclude with a question and answer session and a happy hour with light refreshments, wine, and beer.
