The head-on crash prompted the temporary closure of SR-92.

HALF MOON BAY, CA — A DUI suspect will be arrested after he is released from a hospital following a head-on collision Monday afternoon in Half Moon Bay, a San Mateo County sheriff's spokeswoman said.

At about 4 p.m. the suspect was driving west in the eastbound lanes of state Highway 92 when his vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle in front of 501 San Mateo Road, spokeswoman Detective Rosemerry Blankswade said. San Mateo Road is also known as Highway 92.

Blankswade said the suspect crawled out of his vehicle and tried to hide from law enforcement officers. But the person was located and he smelled of alcohol, Blankswade said. He was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.
