Earth Hour Event - Saturday, March 28th at 6 pm
Commemorate Earth Hour by joining HI-Point Montara on a guided night hike, night-sky viewing with astronomers, and film, Angel Azul!

HI - Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel would like to invite you to a special event in honor of Earth Hour! This is a free event and festivities will begin at 6 pm. You are welcome to join for some or all of the fun!
If you are unfamiliar with Earth Hour, it is an worldwide annual event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) where non-essential lights are turned off for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 pm as a symbol of commitment to the planet. Over 7,000 cities have “turned off the lights” including landmarks like Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, and the Golden Gate Bridge!
Here is a rough itinerary of what we have planned:

• 6pm: a showing of the film (74 minutes) “Angel Azul: Casting for a New Generation” in the Fog Signal Building.
• 7:15 - 8:15: Skype with YHA Sydney Harbor and view Earth Hour video’s from 2015 and past years. Snacks & Conversation.
• 8:15: We’ll start turning off the lights!
• 8:30 - 9:30 / Earth Hour: A night hike to the beach (3 minute walk in daylight) with OHA Education Programs Manager, Fiume Drummond! View the night sky with 3 astronomers who will be sharing their telescopes. We hope to see the moon, Jupiter, and a nebula!
