Hit-and-Run Suspect Admits to Use of Methamphetamines

The driver fled the scene after crashing into two cars, which sustained damages but there were no injuries.

A Pescadero man was arrested in Half Moon Bay on Thursday night for a hit-and-run incident while under the influence of methamphetamines.

San Mateo County deputies responded to a report of a collision on the 700 block of Purissima Street, in which the suspect fled the scene after colliding with the victim’s vehicle.

According to San Mateo County deputy Salvador Zuno, there were no injuries but the victim’s car and another vehicle both sustained damage.

Deputies located the suspect, who they identified as Stanley Arthur Hoffman, 46. Hoffman appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and admitted to having used methamphetamines, deputies said.

Hoffman was arrested and transported to San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run, according to deputies.
