In the Kitchen with Chef Tanaka is a series of monthly, demonstration–style cooking events highlighting seasonal fare from local farms.

In the Kitchen events are $85 per person, and are held from 12 to 2 p.m. The program includes a three-course lunch with wine paired by Petra Polakovicova, the resort’s sommelier.

Here’s a rundown of upcoming events, as prepared by the resort:

January 3, 2015: In the Kitchen with Braised Meats and Heirloom Beans
In the peak of winter season this event showcases the perfect technique to braise short ribs, confit duck legs and highlight the remarkable variety of heirloom beans that are found locally from Half Moon Bay’s Giusti Farms. During this event the chefs may even divulge the secret to the Navio short ribs.

February 7, 2015: In the Kitchen for Two
Lean to prepare a romantic dinner for two at home. The chefs will demonstrate a few simple tricks to impress a Valentine’s Day date. Prepare an appetizer for two, entrée for two and dessert for two.

March 7, 2015: In the Kitchen with Oysters
Explore the many ways to prepare oysters other than just eating them on the half shell. When oysters are locally farmed they can be enjoy year round.
