Dear Half Moon Bay Community,

Something that has always been important to me is the health, safety, and well-being of the families, workers, and businesses in our community. In the midst of the pandemic, I know that many of you are without work, your business might be closed, or you’re worried about feeding your families and keeping a roof over your heads. All of us are feeling a great deal of anxiety or a sense that we have little or no control over these circumstances.

I want to assure you that we’re all in this together, as a community. A group of nonprofits and other agencies has come together as the Coastside Collaborative, to offer resources that can help you, your family, and your business. It’s my hope that this effort will be helpful to those of you who are in need, as well as to those who may be in a position to provide help to others.

The Coastside Collaborative website is www.hmbcity.com/coastsidecollaborative. There, you can access resources ranging from food, shelter, and basic assistance, to health care, child care, personal financial support, and help for your business. There is also a section about how you can assist others during this difficult time by volunteering, donating, or supporting local businesses.

This is a world-wide pandemic of unprecedented proportions - but it’s at this local, community level that we can best help one another to endure and build for the future. Thank you for doing your part by staying home, staying safe and healthy, taking care of your loved ones, and helping your fellow community members however you can.

As we continue to explore how the City can best respond to this crisis, please let us know if there’s something else you feel we can do to help the community.
