Local golf pro qualifies for PGA Championship

Mitch Lowe won't be available for instructions Aug. 9-13. He'll be teeing up with golf's best at the PGA Championship.

Half Moon Bay Golf Links Director of Instruction Mitch Lowe has qualified for the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island Ocean Course in South Carolina Aug. 9-13.

Lowe earned a spot at Kiawah Island by finishing second in his sectional tournament and finishing seventh at the PGA Professional National Championship, according to The Daily Journal .

Lowe is no stranger to the PGA Championship. He played at Hazeltine in 2009 and Whistling Straits.
