Man Plans to Pay Off Mortgage with Scratcher Winnings

Gregory Naumann won $2 million dollar from a Million $$ Match scratcher ticket purchased in Montara.

A man is planning to pay off his mortgage after winning $2 million on a California Lottery scratcher ticket, according to lottery officials.

Gregory Naumann purchased the Million $$ Match ticket in May at the Neighborhood Gas Mart, 8445 Cabrillo Highway in Montara, an unincorporated community in San Mateo County.

“I took it (the ticket) back right away (to the retailer to have it scanned) to make sure what I saw was real!” Naumann said.

“He had a look of terror on his face,” his wife said.

His wife made several copies of the tickets just to make sure, Naumann said.

It’s a lucky day for the retailer also. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, according to lottery officials.
