Man Who Threatened to Kill Sheriff's Deputy Arrested in Half Moon Bay: Police

Sheriff's officials say it started when the man belligerently called 911 multiple times to complain about a legal matter.

HALF MOON BAY, CA — San Mateo County sheriff's detectives arrested a man over the weekend in Half Moon Bay who allegedly threatened to kill one of their own.

On March 11, deputies say 24-year-old Eric Marchi misused the 911 system to complain about a previous legal matter, according to sheriff's officials. At the time, he was allegedly belligerent and used profanity.

"A member of the Sheriff’s Office reached out to the suspect in attempts to resolve the situation," the sheriff's office said in a news release. "Marchi responded by stating he was armed and would shoot him."
