Coastside New Leaf Community Market invites the community to celebrate with us September 14 - 16.
Coastside New Leaf Community Markets in Half Moon Bay will be hosting a three-day celebration to mark ten years serving the Coastside community on Friday, September 14 through Sunday, September 16.
Festivities peak on Saturday, September 15 with free live music, face painting, giveaways and plenty of food and wellness product sampling courtesy of local vendors, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the store parking lot and throughout the store.
Many of New Leaf's coastside community partners will be on hand, educating residents about what they do to help make the Coastside a better place to live, and giving demonstrations. “I am very proud of the genuine connections our staff has made with our neighbors over the last 10 years,” said Coastside New Leaf store manager Rachel Redfield. “We work together to nourish and sustain our community and provide customers with high-quality, natural and organic products and extraordinary service. Our commitment to community is reflected in the 10 percent of profits we give each year to many local nonprofits that work diligently to improve the quality of life on the Coastside,” she added.
To celebrate the store’s valued staff, 12 Coastside New Leaf team members who have been employed at the store for 10 years will be honored with a certificate of gratitude. Honorees include Mary Degarimore Burke, meat manager; Bonna Smith-Monday, meat clerk; Jose Alvarez, kitchen manager; Yvette Gilletti, lead cashier; Jesus Maya, grocery; Delano Watson, meat specialist; Freddy Lopez, produce specialist; Melissa Johnson, café manager; Juan Maya, assistant meat manager, Mel Schwing, produce specialist; Alvaro Maya Sanchez, janitor; and Felipe Maya, grocery.
“I’ve enjoyed getting to know members of the Coastside community by name, and offering our customers the best in fresh, locally grown produce,” said New Leaf produce specialist Freddy Lopez. “What I like about being a New Leaf staff member,” added meat manager Mary Degarimore Burke, “is that customers know they can get delicious, high-quality natural meats and sustainable seafood from local producers at our meat counter.”
