Officials Break Ground on New Half Moon Bay Library
"What are we doing? Building a library!"
HALF MOON BAY, CA – After years of planning and waiting, ground was officially broken Friday on a new library in Half Moon Bay.
Among those in attendance at the ceremonial event were Half Moon Bay City Council members, Mayor Rick Kowalczyk, and San Mateo County supervisors Carole Groom and Don Horsley and Assemblymember Rich Gordon.
"The new Half Moon Bay Library will be a modern, inviting, and engaging facility, designed with the needs of today’s digital community in mind. More than a book depository, today’s libraries have a wider focus, including community gatherings, events and activities, internet connections, multipurpose areas, and literacy sections," the San Mateo County Libraries says of the project, which is expected to be completed by 2018.
