Osteria Coppa: Sunday Brunch "Build your own Bloody Mary", and Sunday Supper

Choose from Sriracha salt, tangy green tomatillo, bacon-infused Vodka, up to 20 options for your custom Bloody Mary at Sunday Brunch.

Osteria Coppa – serving modern Italian cuisine at 139 South B Street in downtown San Mateo – is pleased to announce several new additions to its Sunday repertoire:

- “Build Your Own” Bloody Mary Bar - Now during Sunday Brunch, guests can design their own Bloody Mary, choosing from over 20 offerings from a fully stocked Bloody Mary cart, including a custom rim, base, mix, spice, and garnish. Rims range from basic sea salt and pepper to Sriracha salt, and the base can be traditional Grey Goose or Tito’s Vodka, or one of three house infused Vodkas, such as bacon-infused, jalapeno-infused, or citrus-infused Vodka. Guests can choose a mix of classic Bloody Mary, tangy green tomatillo or clammy Clamato, and “spice it up” with Tobasco, Sriracha, or jalapeno puree. Ten different garnishes are available, ranging from a traditional pickled green bean to house made salami, a bacon strip, or a steamed gulf shrimp.

- Sunday Supper – A new prix fixe menu is designed to be shared by friends and family. The savory four course dinner menu offered for $32.95 (plus tax and gratuity) and is served in addition to the restaurants regular menu. The menu changes weekly and an optional wine pairing is also available.

“In Italy, Sunday is an important family day. Sunday supper is part of the culture – a shared experience of great food, great wine, and great conversation with family and friends”, says Paul Shenkman, owner of Osteria Coppa. “We’ve designed this experience for friends and family to share a meal before the start of a busy week.”

This week’s Sunday Supper Menu on Sunday, March 8, begins with Grilled Calamari, Italian Butter Beans, Sweet Cherry Peppers and Preserved Lemon Gremolata, followed by Ravioli ai Quattro Formaggi, slow-cooked in Napoletano Style Ragu. The main course is savory Pork Shanks, Pork and Beef Meatballs and Housemade Italian Sausage, in a slow-simmered Ragu Napoletano, served with a Braised Escarole, Pancetta, Spring Onions and Chili Flakes, and Mascarpone Polenta Cakes, with Oregano Infused EVOO. Dessert is a Gelato Sandwich, with an Oatmeal and Expresso Cookie. The Sunday Supper menu (see restaurants website) will change weekly to accommodate seasonality, as Executive Chef Daniel Padilla hand selects ingredients from local farmers markets.
