PHOTO OF THE DAY: Moon Over the Mountains

I took advantage of a rare clear sky this past Tuesday evening to photograph the nearly full moon rising over the Santa Cruz Mountains silhouetting the trees on the ridge.

The shot was taken from Higgins Canyon Road about 6:45pm using a Nikon D7000, 70-300 mm f/4.5-5.6 lens, shutter speed 1/13th second, aperture f/8, ISO 100. I tweaked the exposure, cropping and sharpening in Photoshop.
