Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay Helps Youth Prepare for Future Success
Rotarians at Work Supporting Local Youth

The Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay sponsors several initiatives to help prepare high school students for future success, and November showcases two key projects – Rotary & Chamber @ the High School and Financial Aid Seminar.
The Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay has a long-standing partnership with the Half Moon Bay Coastside Chamber of Commerce to host a week-long series of seminars aimed at local high school seniors to teach skills for job readiness. The practical sessions focus on resume-building, interview techniques, human resources guidelines, financial planning, and computer/social media skills. In November, the classes will be offered at Pescadero High School, with future sessions for the senior classes of 2014-2015 to be scheduled at Half Moon Bay and Pilarcitos High Schools.
On November 6, the Rotary Club sponsors How to Pay for College, a life-changing opportunity for parents of high school students. Paul Wrubel, Half Moon Bay Rotarian and renowned expert on this topic, presents his Financial Aid Seminar aimed at parents of high school juniors. The seminar is offered free of charge to interested parents. Over the last two and a half decades, Dr. Wrubel has served as an independent counselor for high schools, service clubs, government programs, non-profits and families across the economic spectrum and around the globe. He has been recognized widely as a preeminent authority on college funding matters and as such has been quoted in the print and broadcast media many times. He has appeared on talk shows from coast to coast and has conducted hundreds of public workshops on college admissions and college funding issues around the nation.
