VIDEO: Winston the Guinea Pig Celebrates the Fourth
Half Moon Bay's most famous guinea pig was hanging out on Main St. today looking dapper in red, white and blue.
Winston, a guinea pig adopted from the Peninsula Humane Society by Laura Hayes of Moss Beach, was spotted on Main St. this morning before the July 4 parade this afternoon.
Hayes says Winston is well known to locals around town, and his affable personality makes it easy for him to be her constant companion.
"I bring him basically everywhere I go," Hayes said, citing and as just two of the places Winston has accompanied her to. "He has a really good temperament, and he doesn't bite or anything...everybody loves him," she said. "He's kind of famous in Half Moon Bay."

Hayes marched with Winston in today's parade, likely giving him the distinction of being the only guinea pig in town to celebrate July 4 in such fashion.
