1 Killed In Healdsburg Shooting On Fourth Of July: Police

HEALDSBURG, CA — An investigation was underway in Healdsburg following a fatal shooting in the city late Monday night, police said.

Shortly after 11:15 p.m., after the conclusion of the local fireworks show, Healdsburg police dispatchers received multiple 911 calls about a shooting in the 200 block of Monte Vista Avenue, the Healdsburg Police Department said in a news release.

Officers found a male victim unresponsive, lying on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Authorities were working to notify the victim's next of kin before publicly identifying him.

"If you were in the area of Monte Vista Ave. and Lupine Rd. around the time of this incident and believe you might have any information that might aid in the investigation please contact HPD Officer Jason Olvera at (707) 431-3377," police said.
