2 Quakes Rattled Sonoma County: Did You Feel It?
A 4.3 earthquake followed by a 2.5 tremblor shook Sonoma County Tuesday evening.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A series of earthquakes struck the Cloverdale-Geyserville area Tuesday evening, with the largest registering magnitude 4.3, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first quake at 7:40 p.m. was centered near Geyserville, just southeast of Cloverdale, at a depth of about 3.4 miles.
The second one, an aftershock about 30 seconds later, struck in the same spot. That one registered a magnitude of 2.5, but was slightly shallower.

Residents across northern Sonoma County, including Cloverdale, Geyserville, Healdsburg, and parts of Mendocino and Lake counties, reported feeling the quake although to vary degrees.
"Good sized shaker — 4.3 magnitude earthquake — centered between Cloverdale and Geyserville in Northern Sonoma County," wrote District 2 Sen. Mike McGuire on Facebook. "No early reports of damage or injuries."

"Felt a pretty good shake at the Geyserville fire house. Picking up small items the flew around the house," one woman said on Facebook.
"Real sharp in Cloverdale," another reported.
"In Dry Creek definitely felt it, 2 side to side jolts outside, house swayed .... pretty used to them, 9th generation," a Healdsburg resident posted.
However, the quake would have largely gone unnoticed in downtown Healdsburg except for alerts.
Windsor felt "gentle shaking," according to a resident further south.
The tremors were light in Santa Rosa.
More than 160 small aftershocks have since been detected in the area, according to the USGS. However, as of this morning, no reports of significant damage or injuries have been reported.
