8-Inch Cuisinart Butcher Knife Ends Home Depot-Walmart Chase In NorCal
A probation check escalated into a foot chase through parking lots and inside a Walmart before deputies arrested a teen.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — What began as a routine encounter in a Windsor Walmart parking lot quickly turned into a chase through busy stores that ended with a teen in custody, a concealed butcher knife recovered, and a deputy injured.
Authorities arrested a teen Thursday morning after he fled from police, leading officers on a chase through the Windsor Walmart and Home Depot shopping center.
During the chase, he carried a Cuisinart butcher knife in his shirt, according to the Windsor Police Department.

At about 9:43 a.m. today deputies contacted two teens in the Home Depot-Walmart shopping center, one of them on probation, at 6650 Hembree Lane.
After a chase through the parking lot, then the Walmart store — vaulting over a line of shopping carts — the teen was finally stopped.

A Walmart employee found, and turned over, an 8-inch Cuisinart butcher knife that authorities believe the teen discarded during the chase.
He was taken to the Los Guilicos Juvenile Justice Center on suspicion of violating probation, possessing a concealed dirk or dagger, and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
