PETALUMA, CA — A quiet neighborhood call turned urgent Saturday night when a Petaluma resident dialed 911 from his home. Moments later, he told dispatchers his roommate had accidentally shot him.

Millane was taken to the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm, a violation of California Penal Code 246.3.
Police confiscated the suspected firearm and are investigating what led to the shooting.
Authorities said guns should always be stored in a way that prevents accidental discharge or unauthorized access. “Fortunately, this incident did not result in more serious injuries." Parnow said in a statement.
