• Healdsburg Train Station Debate Takes Another Turn With Councilmember's Survey (patch.com) — Healdsburg officials are asking residents and local businesses to complete new surveys that could influence where SMART ultimately builds the city's long-awaited train station. The results will feed into public meetings this fall as SMART reconsiders the previously approved Hudson Street depot in favor of a Downtown West Plaza site, raising questions about commuting patterns, tourism, and future development at Healdsburg's southern gateway.
• Fight at Santa Rosa high school leaves student injured, 2 teens arrested (pressdemocrat.com) — A fight inside a Santa Rosa high school bathroom Thursday left one student injured and led to the arrest of two 17-year-olds, including one detained after leaving his Healdsburg home. Police also arrested a 24-year-old Healdsburg man in the same vehicle for allegedly carrying a loaded "ghost gun," and say the assault appears gang-related, prompting renewed calls for community-wide prevention efforts.
