Bastille Day a Celebration at Healdsburg's Costeaux French Bakery
French Independence Day is today, Thursday, July 14. Vive la France!
Healdsburg's is always a good place for a celebration, but that is so much more true today!
July 14 is French Independence Day, so the Healdsburg downtown staple is acting accordingly. With deals on croissants and pain chocolat, Eiffel Tower cookie decorations for kids, and can-can dancers on the patio, Costeaux is giving free rein to their French heritage.
Key events include a 9 a.m. hands-on workshop with Karl Seppi (Costeaux owner and chef) on shaping a croissant; Pétanque street bowling from 9:30 - 11:30; guillotine-sliced baguettes at a Country Marketplace from 11 - 2 pm; and more.

Song and dance too are on the agenda, as the Ooh La-La Can-Can Dancers show their stuff in the cafe and patio from 11 - 1:30, and live muisic from Due Zighi Bachi (Two Gypsey Kisses) follows until 3:30.
It all wraps up with a finale at 3:30 - 4 p.m. on the patio as the can-can dancers celebrate Bastille Day with a flourish and a flounce.
