Concert and Dining with Lawrence Holmefjord-Sarabi and Family

Social Butterfly Vickie Norris reports on the happenings around town.

Wednesday’s (7-11-12) concert with Lawrence Holmefjord-Sarabi performing “An Evening of Chopin” at the Raven Theatre was a raving success.

“It was a wonderful concert. His fluidity of hand, the speed of his hands, it was amazingly transformational,” gushed Elise Bulger.

Bulger, of course, is a hard working patron of the arts and the Raven Theatre. She is currently working on two events, “Cocktails & Characters” at Hotel Healdsburg on August 5th, and “Dancing with the Stars” at the Raven on November 9th and 10th.

After the concert, in true Baci fashion, Lisbeth Holmefjord and Shari Sarabi, owners and proud parents, threw an after the concert party/dinner. Great wines and wonderful food were waiting for patrons as they came over from the theatre.

Lisbeth introduced her son before the concert then came over with the crowd to the restaurant afterward, carrying the white roses that were given to Lawrence at the end of the concert.

“Some people came all the way from Los Angeles to hear Lawrence,” said Lisbeth. “All of the money raised tonight, goes to the Raven Theatre. We don’t make any money on the tickets or the dinner,” she said.

Both the concert and the dinner were well attended and the guests were glad they were there. It was a feast with appetizers of gourmet cheeses, crackers, marinated shrimp and dinner with 2 salads (Caesar and a vegetable salad) main course of bolognese rigatoni, polenta, risotto, roasted potatoes, fresh cooked vegetables, followed by 2 chocolate decadent desserts.

Barbara Derringer said of the concert, “I absolutely enjoyed the concert, so much so I forgot to breathe!”
