HHS Freshman Orientation on Tuesday

The holidays are long over, classes are back on track, and I am informing the town of Healdsburg about once again.

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, freshman orientation for the 2012-2013 school year will be held. Classes will be chosen and tours will be given.

New classes are being scheduled for the 2012-2013 school year. Elective classes are making posters for the bulletin boards telling returning students why they should take that elective class.

"Students who take journalism score higher on both ACT and SAT tests." There are also posters hanging on every bulletin board stating reasons why to take physics.

The senior dinner/dance is this Friday, Jan. 27. The dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the and the dance will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Citizen Diplomats needed: Open your home and heart to an exchange student. For more information, please contact Ms. Stetson, French teacher, room 47A.

CLUBS

HHS club SACA, SAT, ACT and College Application is taking a new direction. Students are able to join this club to discuss HHS's book club over a cup of noodles.

SPORTS

Boys tennis players, old and new, are welcome to "Open Court" after school.

All spring sport athletes will begin practice on Feb. 6. Athletic packets must be turned into the Student Store before Feb. 6.

SENIORS

If any senior is interested in the field of nuclear energy and related engineering fields, the Navy will be giving a presentation about their nuclear programs.

Sign-up sheets are in the Counseling Center.

The next Career Panel is on Healthcare, with a presentation with Dr. Vargas, a nurse and pharmacy technician who will talk about the careers in her field.

Students may sign up in the Career Center if interested.
