Myra Hoefer To Adorn Cover Of House Beautiful

I am so pleased to let you know that Myra Hoefer is about to adorn the cover of the March issue of House Beautiful. This will be Hoefer’s seventh time as the featured American designer with that French twist that we love so much.

In this issue the focus will be on The Ivy House, Hoefer’s home on Center Street in downtown Healdsburg. The interior photos of The Ivy House are simply brilliant.

This humble little cottage has the heart of a lion -- and a photogenic one at that.

It is fun to see Hoefer blasting around town. She is such a wonderful bundle of energy. She is so fun.  

I knew her for years before I was aware of the magnitude of her work and the impact that she has had on American design.

House Beautiful magazine has a pullout in one of their issues. It is like a family tree of American designers. Frank Lloyd Wright, Gustav Stickly, AJ Downing and Myra Hoefer are all in the same group.

In speaking with Hoefer last week I could not get over her passion. It is contagious.

“Let these folks in Healdsburg know that I love to help folks," she said. "We all have such interesting objects in our homes; sometimes it just takes a different vision.”

It truly is amazing how she can transform a space into an environment.
