Coastal Airlifts Rescue Injured Bicyclists On Remote Trails In Weekend Accidents: Watch

CHP helicopters airlifted injured cyclists who were transfered to local trauma centers after separate bicycle accidents this weekend.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — In a set of high-altitude rescues, California Highway Patrol helicopter crews airlifted injured cyclists from remote locations in Pacifica and Marin County to local trauma centers over the weekend, authorities said.

Footage from Monday shows a CHP helicopter aiding firefighters from North County, Pacifica, and Daly City, after a bicycle accident on Farallones View Trail in Pacifica.

The cyclist suffered major injuries from the fall.

The North County Fire crew, lowered by the CHP helicopter, reached the injured rider. The rider was hoisted from the trail, placed in an ambulance, and taken to a trauma center.

On Sunday, CHP responded to another bicycle accident on Panoramic Highway near Whitegate Ranch in Marin County, where Marin County Fire and Stinson Beach Fire asked for helicopter support.

The cyclist was flown by CHP helicopter H-30 to a local trauma center. Authorities gave no further details on the patients’ conditions.
