The Lake County wildfire is 92 percent contained, according to Cal Fire.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — The Pawnee Fire that destroyed or damaged at least 28 homes and other structures in Lake County is nearly contained. Officials with Cal Fire said Thursday night the wildfire was 15,000 acres and 92-percent contained. Firefighting resources would remain committed to the blaze overnight and throughout the day Friday for the purpose of patrolling and maintaining perimeter control, officials with Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said.

As of Thursday night, all evacuation orders and most road closures related to the fire were lifted. Walker Ridge Road at Highway 20 was the exception and remained closed.

The cause of the fire that broke out June 23 northeast of Clearlake Oaks remains under investigation.
