DUI Driver With Children Arrested In North Bay

Driver allegedly sped through Windsor with four juveniles in the vehicle before deputies stopped her car.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A woman with four children in her car was arrested during a late-night DUI patrol, authorities said.

Windsor police arrested Erica Castellanos Magana on suspicion of driving under the influence and child endangerment after deputies stopped her vehicle for speeding

A Winsdor police deputy stopped her near Windsor Road and Windsor River Road at about 11 p.m. on May 30.

The deputy clocked her white Honda Accord traveling at 47 m.p.h. — 17 miles over the posted speed limit, the Windsor police department said.

“The deputy initiated a traffic stop and, during contact with the driver, observed signs consistent with alcohol impairment, including bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of an alcoholic beverage,” police wrote on social media. “The driver admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages earlier in the day.”

Four children between the ages of 9 and 12 years old were inside the car when she was stopped. They were released to another adult at the scene.

Castellanos Magana was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
