Earth Day Prep, Prom Tickets, Healdsburg's Night with the Giants at HHS
Monday's weekly bulletin for parents of students of HHS and students alike.

Healdsburg's Night with the Giants. Monday, April 22 will be Healdsburg's Night with the Giants at AT&T Park vs. Arizona Diamondbacks. Watch the Giants battle the Snakes while supporting our Healdsburg student athletes. The SF Giants will donate up to 1/2 of the $25 ticket price back to the HHS Boosters. The HHS Band will be on the field to play the National Anthem. If you purchase tickets from a music student, the donation will go to the music department. To order game tickets, please send an order form available in the school office or go to www.healdsburghighboosters.org to order online. Call Richard Bugarske at 433-1771 for more information, deadline is Thursday, April 18, 2013. This has been a sold-out event in the past, so get your tickets now!
Band Performance. On Wednesday evening, April 17 at 7 pm the HHS Concert Band will perform a joint concert with the Santa Rosa High School Symphonic Band in the Santa Rosa High School Auditorium. This promises to be a very fine performance, and admission will be free, so be sure to come and hear these fine bands play both separately and together.
Prom is April 27th. Tickets will be on sale this week.

Senior Parents: The Class of 2013 will be having their Senior Activity Day on Friday, April 26th. They have elected to spend their day "Cruising the Bay" with Alcatraz Excursions. The theme for the day is "Casino." The seniors will be playing casino games as well as board games. The Seniors need your help to make this day a successful and memorable Senior Day:

- Board games or party games like "Catch Phrase," "Uno Attack," "Limbo," "Bingo." If you have any board games or party games you would like to offer, please let us know.
- We have secured Nintendo Wii with the Dance Revolution game on it. We are in need of speakers to use with a Wii System.

Senior Parents Reminder: Community Service hours are due by May 1st. 40 hours of Community Service is a requirement in order to graduate. Turn in log sheets to the Counseling Dept.
Parents of Freshman, Sophomores, & Juniors: We need your help for Graduation Celebration! This event is a safe and sober celebration for the 2013 HHS graduating class at Driven Raceway in Rohnert Park on Friday, May 31. Pay it forward, so that when your student is graduating, you can relax and know they are safe. Please email Deanna DeBaeke at ccd08did@Comcast.net to volunteer for one of the positions listed. This is a really fun night and you will be so glad you helped out!

Counselors Corner
We have newsletters for juniors and seniors. You can read about college acceptances for seniors, coping with rejection letters, financial aid letters and how to read them, information from the UC's and SRJC. Juniors can read about colleges that cost less, test driving a college and more. Please go to the Counseling web page and click on newsletters.
There is a brand new scholarship for seniors who participated in Little League for a minimum of 4 years. The Dave Miller Fair Play award is for $1000 and applications are available on the table outside the Career Center. The due date is April 22.
Sophomores and juniors: are you stumped about whether to take the SAT or the ACT? Do you want to learn more about the differences and how to excel on these tests? Come to the workshop in the Career Center next Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. The sign-up sheet is on the door.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Are you worried about what you might do after high school? ROP has great classes on and off campus that can give you a taste of real work and give you extra points in the interview process. You already know about our fabulous on campus classes, but don't forget the Energy and Water Resources Program especially if you are a sophomore or junior interested in a career in Energy, Public Utilities and Water Resources Management. For all you computer guys and gals, another great ROP course is CISCO. One of our current Cisco students even assists our HUSD Technology Coordinator. You could get a job immediately after graduation. See your counselor if you are interested. We have applications for next year.
Earth Day News: Computers use a lot of electricity and half of it goes into the monitor. If you are reluctant to turn off your computer at the end of the day the least you can do is to shut off the monitor. It will decrease usage by 50%. Learn more about how you can save electricity and enjoy the music of Seed at Earth Day in the Plaza Saturday, April 20th from 11 - 5.
Art and science displays wanted for Earth Day. Please bring your offerings to Lancaster so we can display them to the community on Earth Day, April 20th in the Plaza.
Prom is April 27th. Tickets will be on sale this week.
Strike a pose. Vogue. There will be a meeting for the Fashion Show on April 11th at lunch in room 14.
The Bloodmobile will be here on April 30th. If you would like to donate, please sign up in the main office.
Have you registered for ECO2 School? If you haven't, go to healdsburg.econschool.org and sign up today. If you have already registered then don't forget to track your biking, walking, skating, or carpooling trips on line to win prizes on Friday in the lunch quad. The fourth period class with the most trips tracked on line wins an ice cream or pizza party.
SOPHOMORES/JUNIORS
Are you interested in learning more about whether to take the ACT or the SAT? If so, sign up for a special workshop on the Career Center door. Revolution Prep will be here at 9:30 on Tuesday the 16th to do a hands-on presentation.
SENIORS
There are only a few scholarships left. Please look at the bulletin board for remaining deadlines and pick up your forms as soon as possible.
If you took the SRJC English placement test you can now go onto your SRJC portal to see the results. Good luck.
CLUBS
The COIN Club is meeting in the Career Center at lunch today.
The Mountain Bike Club will meet today in room 19 during lunch. All are welcome.
MAYO Club Board meeting tomorrow, Wednesday in room 49 at lunch.
Progressive Club meets Thursday at lunch in room 4.
