The Town of Windsor is partnering with Daily Acts to offer a day long tour and permaculture lecture at a couple of Windsor homes that are using some innovative strategies to capture, store, and reuse rainwater in their landscapes. The lecture portion will be handled by Christopher Peck, an experienced permaculture instructor, and covers rainwater harvesting basics, along with more in depth permaculture methods to create landscape features that capture and store rainwater in the ground. Permaculture is an ecological design system that draws from and mimics the self-sustaining features and processes found throughout the natural environment.

The second half of the day will enable participants to hear from and speak to Windsor homeowners that have adopted several methods for reusing water on site, including rainfall capturing landscape designs, re-purposed containers for rainwater storage, and a laundry to landscape greywater system. They will be able to discuss cost, feasibility, and challenges faced and answer any other questions you might have for putting these practices to work at your own home.
