Famed Sommelier Adds Serious New Wine Destination To Sonoma Coast

A veteran sommelier announced plans to open an ambitious Sonoma Coast Wine Bar in Jenner next to a beloved café.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A winemaker and veteran sommelier is opening an ambitious wine bar on the Sonoma Coast next to one of the area's favorite cafés.

Patrick Cappiello is launching the Outpost Cellar, a wine bar and tasting room set to open this spring in Jenner.
Located inside the expanded space of Café Aquatica — a beloved Northern California café owned and operated by Cappiello's partner and soon-to-be wife, Rachel Alyn — The Outpost Cellar will anchor a new concept called Jenner Outpost, Cappiello said on social media.

Cappiello also said he wants the wine bar to serve as the official tasting room for Monte Rio Cellars, which he operates with winemaker Pax Mahle. He said he will curate a wine list featuring 1,000 selections, specifying varietals, vintages, and regions, and will highlight local and U.S. producers alongside international wineries.
