Family Of 5 Displaced In House Fire
Officials said the blaze began in the Santa Rosa home's garage.

SANTA ROSA, CA – A garage and everything inside it was destroyed by a residential structure fire that also did major damage to a single-family home Wednesday evening in Santa Rosa, according to firefighters.
Crews responded to an address in the 1800 block of Chadwick Court at 8:42 p.m. and found the fire extending from the garage into the attic area of a one-story wood-framed home.
Within 10 minutes of their arrival, firefighters said the roof over the garage collapsed.

The home's attic sustained extensive damage, and the living space sustained major heat and smoke damage.
The residents, a family of five, were displaced by the fire - but they got out of the home safely and no injuries
were reported.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental, according to firefighters, but the incident remains under investigation. Damage is estimated at roughly $400,000.
