Driver Identified In Fatal Rollover Crash On Calistoga Road
The 27-year-old man was not wearing a seat belt in the fatal Sonoma County crash, authorities said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has identified a Florida man as the driver of a Volkswagen who died in a solo-vehicle crash Thursday on Calistoga Road northeast of Santa Rosa.
The fatal incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Calistoga Road near Bodmer Lane — south of Porter Creek Road and Petrified Forest Road — when the driver drifted to the right and hit an embankment, CHP Officer David deRutte said.
"The Volkswagen overturned and went to the left off the east roadway edge," deRutte said. "The Volkswagen subsequently collided with a tree and overturned down an embankment where the driver was ejected. At this time, it appears the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and that he was traveling at an unsafe speed for the roadway."
