Fatal Healdsburg House Fire Probed
A firefighter suffered minor burns battling the blaze that claimed the life of one person and several pets, Healdsburg fire officials said.
HEALDSBURG, CA — A person died in a fire Thursday morning in a Healdsburg house fire, authorities said.
Firefighters were dispatched at 8:03 a.m. Thursday to the 500 block of Prince Street and arrived to find a single-family home heavily involved in fire, the Healdsburg Fire Department said in a news release.
Crews entered the home to put out the fire and search for anyone inside. They found one victim and removed them from the home but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews rescued two dogs and a cat but several other pets perished in the fire.

The Healdsburg Fire Department received mutual aid on the incident from Northern Sonoma County Fire, Santa Rosa Fire, Dry Creek Rancheria Fire, Cal Fire and Bells Ambulance.
"The cause of this fire is still under investigation and the victim’s identity will be released when all family members have been notified," the Healdsburg Fire Department said.
