Free Recycled Water Available for Sonoma Gardens

The Sonoma Valley County Sanitation District is providing free recycled water for local Sonoma Creek Watershed residents' gardens.

SONOMA - The Sonoma Valley County Sanitation District is providing free recycled water for local Sonoma Creek Watershed residents' gardens, lawns and landscaping.

The recycled water fill station is located north of the wastewater treatment plant at 22675 Eighth Street East in Sonoma.

It was open last summer for the first time and closed for the winter.

The station will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 

Residents must bring their own sealable, labeled containers with a minimum volume of one gallon and a maximum volume of 300 gallons per trip.

The recycled water is treated to a very high standard for use on plants, agricultural crops, vineyards, fruit trees, vegetables and herbs. 

It is not suitable for drinking or food preparation.

Residents must complete a residential recycled water fill station use application/agreement online here, or pick one up at the fill station before receiving the water.
