Heading to the Studio
I recently got the chance to tour Prairie Sun Recordings where we, CircusMoon, will be recording our 1st Professional EP. What a dream come true!
As we walked around the property and looked at the different options for recording, I was awed by the history and music that has been a part of this location. To be recording my 1st EP, where some of my hero have recorded is more powerful then I can explain in this blog. Just take a look at their client list.
At one point in the tour, I leaned over and start rubbing the sound board that was used at CBS network during the 60-70's. Can you imagine who has performed through that equipment? I get all tingly just thinking about it. That was during the years when Variety Shows were very popular. So everyone who was anyone would have been hear through this thing.
Besides an amazing location and place to record, Michael James ,a professional producer and mixing engineer, has decided to help us with our project. The feedback we have already begun to get from him as we prepare to enter the studio has been very encouraging.
If someone had told me last year that I would be going into a world renown studio, with a music industry professional from my debut EP, I would have thought they were crazier than I am. It just goes to prove that it does not matter how long it takes, but childhood dreams can come true.
I don't care what happened after that. I'm not looking to be Lady Gaga or Madonna (well maybe just a little). I'm on this road for the experience of saying I did it!!!! I went in to studio, I recorded with my favorite band. I made something so the world knew I was here. Something I can be proud of.
