Healdsburg Leaders Raise Pride Flag At City Hall

HEALDSBURG, CA — Healdsburg will kick off Pride Month with a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall on Monday, where elected leaders and LGBTQIA+ advocates will reflect on the movement's history and its continuing impact on communities across the country.

Raise the Pride flag starts at 5 p.m. at 401 Grove St., marking the start of Pride Month.

Speakers will include LGBTQIA+ leader and historian Tina Dungan, Healdsburg Mayor Chris Herrod, and former Mayor Ozzy Jimenez.

Pride Month traces its roots to the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a watershed moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights.

The protests inspired the first Pride march a year later and has helped fuel decades of legal victories, social change, public awareness campaigns, and expanded civil rights protections.

Monday's ceremony will bring that history to the forefront as community members gather beneath the Pride flag to celebrate visibility, resilience, and inclusion in Healdsburg.
