Hush-Hush Bohemian Grove Guest List Offers Hints But No Tattletales
Leaked 2023 Bohemian Grove Guest list sparks curiosity about who really attended.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A leaked document claiming to reveal the 2023 guest list for Bohemian Grove has sparked a storm of curiosity, intrigue, and disbelief.
The ultra-private summer retreat in Sonoma County’s redwoods—where presidents, billionaires, and cultural icons reportedly mix, mingle, and watch the theatrical “Cremation of Care” ceremony—has long fueled speculation. Now, a 2,000-plus name list has surfaced online, raising questions about who really showed up.
Independent journalist Daniel Boguslaw published the roster on Substack, with local reporting by the San Francisco Standard and the Bay Area News Group.

The Bohemian Club, which organizes the Monte Rio ultra- exclusive encampment, declined to comment.
The list blends expected heavyweights with surprising names. Conan O’Brien, comedian and podcaster, appears alongside the late singer Jimmy Buffett, a nod to past performances rather than confirmed 2023 attendance, the Bay Area News Group reported.

Tech moguls, political donors, and corporate leaders dominate the rest: former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, billionaire and ex-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Charles Koch, and Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the the Bay Area News Group reported.
Bay Area figures include San Francisco Giants principal owner Charles B. Johnson, team chairman Greg Johnson, and heirs to the Bechtel, Fisher, and Mondavi fortunes, the the Bay Area News Group reported.
The document also lists historical figures such as actor Paul Newman, who died in 2008, underscoring that the leaked roster may mix invited guests, past members, and archival records, the Bay Area News Group reported.
Founded in 1872 as a haven for artists, writers, and journalists, the Bohemian Club has expanded to include presidents, Cabinet members, and corporate giants. Every July, members gather on the 2,700-acre private compound, divided into camps with names like Camels, Cave Man, Dog House, Valhalla, and Wild Oats.
A club spokesperson, Sam Singer, declined to tell the Bay Area News Group individual names, saying only, “The Bohemian Club is a private organization. It does not disclose the names of members and guests.”
Boguslaw said he obtained the list in 2024 from a club member after repeated requests and did not rely on deception, the Bay Area News Group reported. Still, the identities of those who actually attended the 2023 retreat remain a mystery.
