Injured Hiker Along Mountain Trail Rescued
Emergency crews use air support, park vehicles, and ground teams to reach an injured hiker deep inside Taylor Mountain Regional Park.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — An afternoon hike at Taylor Mountain Regional Park turned into a multi-agency rescue that called emergency crews into rugged terrain to reach an injured hiker stranded along a remote trail.
The rescue began around 4:01 p.m. Sunday when the Sonoma County Sheriff’s helicopter team, Henry-1, received a request to help locate the injured person inside the park. Rangers and deputies with Sonoma County Regional Parks heard the emergency call over the radio and moved into the area to assist.
The helicopter crew spotted the hiker along the Todd Creek Trail and guided ground crews to the spot where the hiker was stranded.

Paramedics reached the hiker while park deputies and rangers pushed farther up the trail in a vehicle. Crews maneuvered the vehicle close enough to safely load the injured hiker before transporting him down the mountain to a waiting ambulance.
