Maacama Ridge Blaze Still Burning But Contained: Cal Fire

Maacama Ridge blaze burned five acres but Cal Fire reported that crews have halted the fire's forward spread.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Firefighters are at the scene of a 5-acre vegetation fire.The fire broke out in the 5800 block of Maacama Ridge Road in Geyserville.

The Maacama fire started slowly, burning across 3 acres, but spread to 5 acres by 5 p.m., when Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa ordered a helicopter, a hand crew, and two additional fire engines.

Cal Fire reported shortly after that crews had contained the fire at 20 percent, with 5 acres affected, and the forward progress had been stopped.
