Motorcycle Hits Mercedes-Benz, Rider Dies In Sonoma County Crash

CHP officers investigate a collision that killed a motorcyclist at Mirabel and Giusti roads in Forestville.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A motorcyclist died Thursday evening after striking the front of a Mercedes-Benz crossing an intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Santa Rosa CHP officers responded shortly after 6 p.m. to the crash at Mirabel and Giusti roads in Forestville.

CHP said it appears that the Mercedes-Benz driver had stopped on Giusti Road and was preparing to cross the intersection toward Davis Street.

As the Mercedes-Benz entered the intersection, the motorcycle approached northbound on Mirabel Road at a high rate of speed and struck the vehicle’s front, ejecting the rider, CHP said.

Fire personnel pronounced the rider dead at the scene. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Office will release the rider’s identity.
