NorthBay Biz Names Breathless Wines 'Best of 2015' for Sparkling Wine

Breathless Wines, California’s premier producer of sparkling wines, announced today that the NorthBay Biz Magazine (NBB) has named Breathless the Gold medal winner for Best Sparkling Wine in the “Best of 2015” competition for Napa, Sonoma and Marin counties.

The prestigious awards ceremony is a competition recognizing the “reader’s choice” for top leadership by organizations in the North Bay in 39 categories. The gala event of 400 attendees held May 14 at Vintner’s Inn and John Ash & Co. in Santa Rosa highlighted the winners’ accomplishments.

Presenting Breathless’ Gold medal award in the “Business Entertaining” category to Breathless partner Sharon Cohn was John Dennis, COO of NBB.

Breathless Wines was founded in 2011 by sisters Sharon Cohn, Rebecca Faust and Cynthia Faust. The brand commemorates their mother, and aims to help people celebrate special occasions and the “moments in life that take your breath away.”

“We wanted to do something in her honor. It was all about our breathless moments with her, being involved in the community, and giving back,” said Sharon Cohn. “What’s most exciting is that my sisters and I work together. It has been so much fun for all of us.”

Breathless produces three méthode champenoise sparkling wines with grapes sourced primarily from Los Carneros and Dry Creek Valley. The three varietals are crafted by award-winning winemaker Penny Gadd-Coster, and have garnered 23 Best of Class, Gold Medals and 90+ point ratings.

“The readers of NorthBay Biz voted Breathless the 2015 Gold Medal award for Best Sparkling wine. I’m not surprised since they are so dedicated to the community. They give back 20 percent of sales to local non-profits in Sonoma County,” said Joni Rosinski, VP of Sales at NBB.

The NBB received over 1,000 nominations for organizations across the North Bay Area and received more than 80,000 votes from readers.
