Not Dry Yet: Showers Come And Go As Warming Trend Builds Across Bay Area
The National Weather Service forecast calls for dry, warmer conditions through Friday before slight chance of rain returns Sunday.
NORTH BAY, CA — Lingering showers across parts of the Bay Area are expected to taper off today, giving way to several days of warmer, drier weather before a weak system brings a slight chance of rain late in the weekend, according to forecasters.
Forecasters say scattered to widespread showers continued overnight in parts of the Bay Area and into Santa Cruz County.
Shower activity is expected to diminish through the morning, with only isolated precipitation possible across elevated areas of the South Bay and Central Coast.

A warming trend will follow, with daytime highs gradually climbing through the week. Temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-to-upper 60s along the Pacific coastline and the mid-to-upper 70s in interior valleys by Friday.
Patchy mist and fog may linger Wednesday morning in valley areas across the North Bay, South Bay and interior East Bay following the recent rainfall.

Forecasters said most locations will see only light additional rainfall totals—generally between a tenth and a quarter inch—primarily along southeast-facing coastal slopes from Marin County through western Santa Cruz County and in the Berkeley Hills.
Areas of dense fog before 11am will descend on the North Bay. Otherwise, the North Bay can expect clouds that will gradually give way to sunshine, with a high near 71. Friday temperatures are forecast to rise to 74 degrees.
Conditions in the East Bay are nearly identical except for fog and the high on Friday will be a few degrees lower.
The warming pattern is expected to shift late in the weekend as a cutoff low approaches Northern California, with the system forecast to track near Cape Mendocino.
While light showers are possible Sunday into Monday around the Bay Area, forecast models indicate minimal rainfall.
Moderate seas will continue over the weekend. Moderate northerly breezes will continue through Friday, backing to become northwesterly by the weekend.
