Pedestrian Critically Injured In Windsor Collision

BREAKING: Sonoma County sheriff's officials are seeking witnesses of Sunday's crash.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Sonoma County sheriff's officials in Windsor are seeking witnesses of a collision Sunday between a vehicle and a pedestrian that left a woman hospitalized with critical injuries. At about 9 a.m. Sunday, a 70-year-old woman was walking in the marked crosswalk at Alden Lane and Old Redwood Highway when she was struck by a Chevy Tahoe driven by a 63-year-old man, sheriff's Sgt. James Percy said in a news release.

The woman was walking northbound across the crosswalk at the signal light-controlled intersection when the Tahoe driver turned left from southbound Alden onto eastbound Old Redwood Highway, striking the woman, Percy said.

She suffered major injuries and was rushed by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, the sergeant said. Monday morning, the woman was in critical condition, he said.
