Signs Of Struggle Found In Man's Death At Santa Rosa Home: Police
UPDATED: The Santa Rosa Police Department is investigating the death as a homicide, and a reward is offered for information in the case.

SANTA ROSA, CA — UPDATED 6:40 p.m. Friday: Santa Rosa police detectives now believe a 55-year-old man found dead in a Santa Rosa home Thursday was the victim of a homicide. The man, whose name was being withheld until family members are notified, victim had multiple punctures and stab wounds all over his body, police said Friday.
Around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, a woman reportedly saw the man's body inside a residence in the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue and went to a neighbor's home to call police.
"The male had visible physical injuries, and there were signs consistent with a struggle inside of the residence," SRPD Lt. Dan Marincik said.

A reward up to $2,500 is now being offered through the Sonoma County Alliance's "Take Back Our Community Program" for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved in the fatal stabbing, police said Friday.

ORIGINAL POST: The body of a 55-year-old man was found inside a Santa Rosa home Thursday and it appears he died in a struggle, a lieutenant with the Santa Rosa Police Department said. The man's body was discovered at 12:38 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a person who was possibly dead inside a home in the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue, near Range Avenue and Guerneville Road west of U.S. Highway 101.
"The male had visible physical injuries, and there were signs consistent with a struggle inside of the residence," SRPD Lt. Dan Marincik said.
The man had suffered stab wounds, Marincik said.
A woman saw the body and went to a neighbor's home to call police, according to the lieutenant.
Police believe the man was fatally stabbed close to the time he was discovered dead.
The death is considered suspicious and detectives with SRPD's Violent Crimes Investigations Team are interviewing witnesses and looking at evidence, Marincik said.
There is no active threat to the community, according to police.
"The investigation is still in its early stages, and we will provide additional information as we are able to," Marincik said.
