Sobriety Stop Leads To Loaded Gun In Healdsburg

HEALDSBURG, CA — Officers found a loaded, unserialized firearm within a driver's reach after stopping a vehicle traveling on Highway 101, according to Healdsburg police.

Healdsburg Police Department officers stopped the driver on Aug. 5 for a sobriety test. During the stop, officers saw a suspected firearm and a pipe within the driver's reach, police said.

Police said the driver was wearing a shoulder holster and suspected he may have removed the firearm from it during the traffic stop.

Officers found 77 rounds of .45-caliber ammunition and six magazines, along with the firearm and suspected drug paraphernalia, according to the Healdsburg Police Department.

Police identified the driver as Hector Murodeniz of Santa Rosa and arrested him. He is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition because of a previous felony conviction, according to Healdsburg police.
