Sonoma County Man Missing Under Suspicious Circumstances: Sheriff

CLOVERDALE, CA — A reward is offered for information that leads to the whereabouts of Cloverdale man who has been missing under suspicious circumstances for over a month.

Around 4 a.m. July 16, Gregory Peterson, 62, left his home in the 30000 block of state Highway 128 in Cloverdale, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Peterson was believed to have been contacted by an unknown acquaintance who had vehicle issues and needed assistance, the sheriff's office said.

Around 11:30 a.m. the following day, Peterson's car was found on fire on U.S. Highway 101 north of Cloverdale.

Peterson has not been seen or heard from since, the sheriff's office said Monday.

Peterson is described as a 6-foot-3-inch white man who weighs around 200 pounds.

Authorities asked anyone with information about Peterson's whereabouts to contact the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Investigations Unit at 707-565-2185 and reference case number 220718-011.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by the Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Rewards Fund for information leading to the whereabouts of Peterson and or the arrest of the suspect/s responsible for his disappearance.
